Based on Michael's suggestion and all my development process, the final decision was made on an interactive project with the artist's book as the main and the installation space as a foil. Based on all the previous book samples, Michael gave me some very helpful suggestions, he suggested that I summarize the characteristics of these small samples into a book and make it, of course, in order to better highlight the claustrophobia Fear, it is necessary to create traces of the patient's behavior in the book and space, such as going crazy, slapping the four walls strongly or digging out nail marks, punching and kicking, etc. Not only does it have a claustrophobic sense of space, but it also has the fear of attacking at any time. I think this form is more complete, more interesting, and more relevant.
This is a rendering of the installation space. In this rendering, I think that even if there is no font design in the space, the traces left by simply letting people toss around in the space are convincing to a certain extent. After all, the traces left by people's personal experience are more real. This sense of unconscious interaction comes from people's inner sense of reality and the first reaction of consciousness. Of course I also hope that the space can also give back to the audience. For example, the interior of the space is arranged with heat-sensitive materials. When people are suppressed in the space and struggle to be ineffective, their first reaction is to tap the space to escape. They may be scared into a cold sweat and become anxious. Sensitive materials are bound to react, leaving traces of their distress, traces of anxiety. This is a kind of fear, a kind of closure, a kind of helplessness.
This is a three-dimensional book I saw on the design website. I think its form is similar to a claustrophobic space. Whether it is analyzed in terms of color or form, it has a closed sense of oppression and restraint. It can bring me more inspiration. For example, if it is enlarged, it will be a very large installation space. Developing the installation in this form can also express more content.
